Radha Mohan Singh: Most experienced Lok Sabha MP from Bihar

Radha Mohan Singh is among the most experienced Member of Parliament (MP) in the 18th Lok Sabha. He is a seven-term MP. Singh Lok Sabha election from Purvi Champaran as a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate.

Radha Mohan Singh started his political journey in 1970s. In early 1970s he got involved with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). His association with the RSS paved the way for his entry into active politics. He joined the Janata Party in 1974 and later became a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) when it was formed in 1980.

Singh was first elected to the Lok Sabha, the lower house of India’s Parliament, in 1989 from the Motihari constituency. Since then, he has been selected as a Member of Parliament (MP) 7 times, showcasing his strong political influence and popularity in the region. Besides the current 18th Lok Sabha, he was also member of 17th, 16th, 15th, 13th, 11th and 9th Lok Sabha.

He served as Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare in the first term of Prime Minister Narendra Modi led government during 2014 to 2019. He is currently National Vice President of BJP and in-charge of BJP Uttar Pradesh.

Singh was born on September 1, 1949, at Narha Panapur village of East Champaran District in Bihar.
