Samrat Choudhary cabinet expansion: Nishant Kumar, 31 others take oath as ministers

Former Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s son Nishant Kumar and 31 other politicians from the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) took oath as ministers as part of the state’s Cabinet expansion on May 7.

Those who took the oath include 15 leaders from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), excluding Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, 13 from Janata Dal (United), excluding two Deputy CMs from the party (Bijendra Prasad Yadav and Vijay Kumar Choudhary), two from Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) and one each from Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) and Rashtriya Lok Morcha.

Governor Syed Ata Hasnain administered the oath of office to the newly inducted ministers during the ceremony attended by senior leaders of the ruling alliance including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, BJP president Nitin Nabin and JD(U) president Nitish Kumar.

List of leaders from the BJP who took oath include Vijay Kumar Sinha, Dilip Jaiswal, Ram Kripal Yadav, Nitish Mishra, Mithlesh Tiwari, Kedar Gupta, Rama Nishad, Pramod Chandravanshi, Lakhindra Paswan, Sanjay Tiger, Engineer Kumar Shailendra, Ramchandra Prasad, Nandkishore Ram, Shreyasi Singh and Arun Shankar Prasad.

The JD(U) list includes Nishant Kumar, Shravan Kumar, Madan Sahni, Lesi Singh, Shweta Gupta, Bhagwan Singh Kushwaha, Damodar Rawat, Bulo Mandal, Sunil Kumar, Sheila Mandal, Ratnesh Sada, Jama Khan and Ashok Choudhary.

Among NDA allies, the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) [LJP(R)] has been allotted two ministerial positions, while Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) and Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) have received one berth each.

From alliance partners, Sanjay Paswan and Sanjay Singh have been named from LJP(R), Santosh Suman from HAM and Deepak Prakash from RLM.
